Apple introduced and announced that they will be transitioning to their own silicon chip in two years, moving away from using Intel chips in their MacBooks and iMacs, Apple hinted that their first product with their own chipset will come later this year in the form of a MacBook, but it's not clear which of the current MacBook models will be receiving the all-new Apple's ARM-based CPU.

Popular analyst Ming Chi-Kuo has said that Apple will release two MacBooks this year with its own ARM64 architecture CPU. These two MacBooks are the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. These two will come out in the market later this year with the 13-inch MacBook Pro releasing first followed by the MacBook Air.

Ming Chi-Kuo said that the new MacBook Air with Apple's CPU may get postponed to release in early 2021, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Apple's CPU will have little to no design changes and may look similar to the 2020 model that was released earlier this year.

The top-end MacBook, the 16-inch MacBook Pro will also get the new Apple's own CPU but will only be released in the second or third quarter of 2021 and the rumored 14-inch MacBook Pro which will also be powered with Apple's own silicon will release at the same time.

Ming Chi-Kuo didn't say anything about the iMacs, we'll have to wait on that. According to Kuo, Apple's shipments of Macs may increase anywhere between 18 to 20 million in 2021 because of the new ARM-based Macs, Apple sold 15 million Macs in 2019, Apple said that the whole transition will take two years to complete.
