After all the testing and previewing of the dark mode on its lite app and on desktop, Facebook is finally rolling out dark mode for its mobile app, where most users use Facebook on, but before you get your hopes up, let me clarify you that the dark mode is only available to a small percentage of Facebook users, as first reported by Social Media Today.

Dark Mode is one of the popular things in the tech world today, understandably, considering all the benefits it will bring to the table besides saving your eyes from the blasting white background during the night no matter how much you reduce your brightness level. You can say that Facebook is late to the party, almost all popular apps offer a dark mode today.

Other apps that were owned by Facebook like Instagram, Whatsapp, Messenger have already received the dark mode, Facebook is currently testing out the feature on iOS because iOS is a good platform to test out new features as it is less fragmented.

Facebook told Social Media Today that "it is indeed now out in the world, though only for a small percentage of users globally right now." Judging by the screenshots in the above tweet, there is no visual tweak made to the app, like the desktop version received recently, the update only gives the option to switch to dark mode.

Other iOS users will receive the update in the coming weeks, there are no details on when the update will be rolled to Android users, one of the Facebook's spokesperson told The Verge that "Facebook has made the dark mode available to a very small percentage of people globally the dark mode Facebook introduced last month for desktop is meant to cut down on glare, particularly in low-light environments."
