iPhone users mainly(or some times only) use FaceID to unlock their phones as there is no option to use a touch ID and also Face ID works faster and is secure but during this time of Pandemic, many users will have to wear face masks to protect themselves for COVID-19, if they wear a face mask Face ID can't detect the face of the user.

So users will be prompted to swipe up a use passcode to unlock their phone, this can be annoying to the users since there are so used to unlock their phones without touching it, and unlocking phones with a password is really a thing of the past these days. So with the beta release iOS 13.5, Apple made a workaround for this problem.

Previously, users will only be prompted to use the passcode once Face ID made several attempts and failed but now you didn't have to wait for FaceID to do its job, you will have the option to swipe up and use the passcode. Wired notes that this is especially important for Apple Pay users as they don't have to wait for FaceID to make attempts only to fail ultimately, digital transactions are more important than ever these days as physical currency can be a source of infection.

And of course, this is a beta release, we'll have to wait until this feature makes it to the public release, besides this feature, Apple also added some new features in iOS 13.5. this feature should make it easier for iPhone users to unlock their phones after the final release of iOS 13.5.
