Everyone knows about the history of problems in Windows 10 updates, even though some of them are not using Windows 10 by themselves, because the bugs in every Windows 10 update makes sure that Windows 10 will make it to the news for all the wrong reasons. Recently Forbes noted the similar problems in recent Windows 10 security patch KB4535996.

BleepingComputer and Windows Latest are the ones who found this problem in the KB4535996 security patch, unlike some windows 10 updates, this patch has more problems which are much severe than normal boot problems.

Forbes noted down the list of problems that are caused by the KB4535996 patch that are faced by some Windows users, as always Microsoft is still working on these issues and haven't released a solution yet, all users can do now is uninstall the KB4535996 patch for now and use Windows Update troubleshooter tool to stop Windows from installing unwanted updates.

The first issue caused by KB4535996 is Boot Problems, many users have faced delays in the boot time after the update and some have faced disconcerting black screen partway through the elongated boot process.

Here is a user who wrote in Windows community discussions about the issue he faced after installing the above patch.

“I just had this update on my PC and now it will not boot. Fails the BIOS POST test with a series of beeps, completely blank screen. I bought it only 5 days ago, have tried re-seating the RAM and GPU. Hard to decipher the beeps as the screen is blank and I don’t know what MB make it is. (8 regular slow beeps. Then a repeat of two slow low tone beeps, two fast high tone beeps - if that means anything to anyone!) I did have some important work to do, but I guess not, thanks Microsoft :( I presume there is no way to fix this and the PC is now dead, as it won’t ever boot up again now, to receive a Windows update fix ... to fix this ‘update fix’?”

The second problem faced by the Windows users because of KB4535996 is Blue Screen Of Death, the most annoying and terrifying thing a PC user can face, this seems to appear during the login process and was faced by fewer users, Bleeping Computer noted about the issue, “Seeing this issue with about 200 machines. Uninstalling the update doesn’t come off cleanly and still gets lock ups on initial boot.”

Stutters, dropped frame rates, high disk usage, and thrashing are the other issues that have been reported, one user wrote on Reddit while discussing the about the new problematic patch, “It's not extreme, but I say my framerate in games has gone down 10 frames or so and stuttering occurs once in a while, After uninstalling the cumulative update, everything was fine. Weird.”

Audio problems are one of the problems occurred after the KB4535996 patch update, one user on Windows update forums wrote this about the Audio problem, “Thanks to the recent update I no longer have any sound on my computer, I’ve tried everything and nothing will fix it besides rolling the update back, point is [I] shouldn't have to. Microsoft needs to get their **** together.”

This KB4535996 patch also caused problems in Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft acknowledged this problem and warned users saying"We’re aware of issues with signtool.exe after installing the latest optional update for Windows 10, version 1903 or Windows 10, version 1909 (KB4535996). If you are encountering issues or receiving errors related to signtool.exe, you can uninstall the optional update KB4535996. We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in mid-March."

These are the known problems caused by the recent patch update, these update issues are one of the main reasons why many Windows users have still stuck with Windows 7 OS even though its lifetime is expired, Microsoft has to find a solution for Windows 10 update problems ASAP.
