WhatsApp is a messenger application that you can use to send messages, make a voice or video call and also post statuses just like in Instagram and Facebook using an internet connection, recently WhatsApp added features like WhatsApp pay for online payments through the app.
The following are the devices which are no longer supported starting from 2020
Windows phones
After December 31st 2019 which means from Jan 1st 2020 WhatsApp will no longer support devices which are running on windows phone operating system. WhatsApp was not available to download from Microsoft store from July 1st of this year
The reason WhatsApp gave for this step on It's FAQ page is that it no longer actively develop for the windows phone operating system and says that some features may stop working at any time.
Iphone devices
If you want to use Whatsapp on your iPhone than your phone needs to updated to iOS 9, iPhone devices which are on iOS 8 or less can no longer run Whatsapp from 2020, you can neither create new WhatsApp account nor re-verify your old one on iOS 8, if you're currently using Whatsapp on your iPhone with iOS 8 or less then you can continue to use it normally until February 1st 2020.
WhatsApp recommends the users to update to the latest version of iOS for best experience on WhatsApp, Apple releases latest updates to older devices also so you can easily update your iPhone to latest version which is iOS 13
Android devices
Same as with iPhone devices if you are using Android 2.3.7 or older you can use WhatsApp until February 1st 2020 but can't create new accounts or re-verify your older accounts.
currently Whatsapp is only available for cellular devices and offers limited support to tablet devices.
This won't affect most users since the mentioned Versions are too old versions of Android and iPhone and when it comes to Windows devices, Microsoft told its users to switch to iOS or Android since Microsoft has stopped supporting windows phone OS from earlier 2019 and it will stop sending security updates to the devices after December 10 of 2019.
