Zoom launched Zoom-for-Home as part of their Hardware-as-a-service model

Zoom launched a video conferencing device that will help people working from home to more conveniently communicate with their colleagues, Zoom-for-Home is the first hardware device from the company, till now Zoom only existed as a services company and after the usage of Zoom skyrocketed during this pandemic, Zoom wants to further widen its market in video conferencing.

Zoom users used either their mobile phones or computers to communicate with their colleagues, but now as Zoom introduced this device they can use it as an all-in-one device to discuss their work-related stuff with their colleagues, Zoom-for-Home can be used in multiple ways besides as a screen, it has features like screen sharing, annotations, ideations, and whiteboarding.

It is a 27" ultra-responsive touch display, it will have three built-in cameras for better resolution and eight microphones for better audio quality, Zoom has partnered with DTEN to "create an immersive and productive workspace."




Zoom CEO, Eric S. Yuan said that “After experiencing remote work ourselves for the past several months, it was clear that we needed to innovate a new category dedicated to remote workers, I’m so proud of the team for continuing to think outside the box and prove why Zoom is the best unified communications platform that can meet the needs of all types of users.”

In the recent report, Zoom noted a study done by IBM which showed that 81% of the participants wanted to work from home for at least some of the time and 61% of them wanted the work-from-home model as their primary way of working.
