Facebook is ready to launch a new game streaming app that will let you watch live game streams and also live stream easily your mobile games with just a few clicks. During the time of the self-isolation gaming industry is booming as people are either playing lots of games or watching live game streams of other players to enjoy their free time, reported by the New York Times.

Other forms of entertainment like movies, TV series, live sports, etc. have been on hold as people can't go outside their homes for non-essential reasons, but playing games have no restrictions so people are choosing to play video games to pass their time until they can go out of their homes and go on with their life as normal as it used to be.

Facebook has been planning to release this app for some time now but they decided that this is the right time as the gaming industry is one of the few industries and has been impacted minimally by the coronavirus pandemic. Facebook's gaming app will be limited to mobile as Vivek Sharma, Facebook’s vice president for gaming said.

Gaming streaming is more intense than in of a desktop computer, he said, "We don’t want to be the background window in a Chrome tab while someone is doing their homework or doing something else, With mobile, if you have the app open and you’re using the app, it’s in the foreground. You can’t do anything else on your mobile phone, and that is extremely powerful."

During the time of its beginning, Facebook was the top game streaming option for the people but gradually Facebook lost most of its grip in the gaming industry, now, according to Streamlabs, Facebook holds the third spot for total hours watched in game streaming following YouTube and Twitch.

The app will be ad-free as Facebook plans to get revenue from "stars" which viewers can send to their favorite streamers, Facebook will get a commission in these payments. One can go live within a few clicks by using the Go Live feature which will let you stream your preferred mobile game anytime without a complicated setup.
