Coronavirus effects on Tech events were growing rather than much expected, recently E3 expo has announced that it was going to cancel E3 2020 after consulting their partners of the show. Earlier this year many Tech and other shows were canceled due to the same reason. Many have thought that cancelation of shows was only going to be limited to the first quarter of the year but now, shows that were planned to take place in the middle of the year were also being called off due to the ever-growing cases and concerns of Covid-19.
Recently Who Health Organization has announced Covid -29 as an official global pandemic, which made matters worse, not only Tech events but also many sports events were being called off, Sports events include mass gatherings which were not recommended as coronavirus can be easily transmitted from person to person when they are in close contact if one of them is infected, it can be transmitted through human contact, coughing, sneezing, etc.
E3 Expo wrote on their website announcing the news about canceling the show which was supposed to happen in June at Los Angeles. They said,
"After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles."
E3 Expo has said that they will fully refund the fee to exhibitors and attendees by directly contacting them about the issue, They said that they feel very disappointed that they have to call off such a huge show which was happening since 25 years. But they said that they feel that they took the right decision based on the information that they have on coronavirus.
Although the show has been called off, the organizers said,
"We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020. Updates will be shared on E3Expo.com."
This leaves the happening of upcoming tech shows in question, most probably we may see most of the tech events and conferences through an online stream, many companies like Sony have done the same to replace there canceled MWC 2020 press conferences, Google has already called off Google i/o, Apple won't hold a March event which was rumored to reveal the iPhone SE 2.
