Sony's new PS5 is due to release this December, but it's early announcements are much delayed when compared to when the announcements about early PlayStations like PS4 and others have come in February or March in the year of their release, but no details about the latest PS5 were officially released by Sony yet except for the logo which was released at CES 2020.

Sony's PlayStation 5 was still in production and the production was not interrupted by the outbreak of coronavirus, Sony has patented a controller technology for PS5's  DualShock controller, reported by Respawn First, according to the patent the new DualShock controller of PS5 will be able to detect your sweat and heartbeat.

Sony will be able to do this by placing sensors at each end of the Dualshock controller, where you place your hands when playing on PS5, the patent says that this information collected will be used to increase the user gaming experience, it will be unclear how it will be done until Sony officially announces PS5's features on stage and explain this feature by themselves.

It cannot be confirmed whether the feature will appear in the final product, companies patents a lot of new technologies just to keep that technology in their hands and use it whenever they wish. GameRant noted that while there are no examples of how this feature will help PS5 users, they gave some examples.

They said that this "technology could be used to make a game easier if it's too stressful or in the case of a horror game, ramp up the scares if the player's heart-rate isn't responding accordingly." Sony stated in the patent that,

"A biofeedback sensor attachment for a controller, the bio- feedback sensor attachment comprising one or more sensors for obtaining biofeedback information arranged such that at least one sensor is in contact with a user's hand during normal use of the controller, and an output unit operable to output the biofeedback information about measurements made by the one or more sensors"

In the patent, it is written that Sony uses the PlayStation camera too in this process to monitor the user emotion when detected by the sensors on the controller, this technology will also work with virtual reality, images are shown below for a clear understanding of the technology.

This method will be possible by sensing electrodermal activity and heart rate with the help of sensors placed on both sides of the Dualshock controller grips.
