Google is making Gmail a one-stop productivity place for people working from home, Google has integrated its major productivity apps with Gmail, recently it integrated Meet with Gmail and made it's free and available for everyone to use, but now the new Gmail is only available for G-Suite users and will be available for all in the future.

From Now, Mail, Rooms, Meet, and Chat will be available in the bottom of the Gmail app, so that you can seamlessly switch between various activities without switching apps, along with the above-mentioned integrations, Google will also let you upload files that you've been working as part of your on-going project and track the progress of the assigned tasks in the same app.

The new features will be available for both the desktop and Android, iOS users, you can also update your status as being busy or as in a meeting, and turn off notifications from disturbing you while you are working on important stuff as working from home means a lot of conversations with colleagues and it shouldn't affect your productivity.

With this, you can video call, chat, write an email, and edit your files at the same time, and in the same app, Gmail will now have four other apps integrated into it for G-Suite users, they are Hangouts, Google Meet, Docs, and Tasks. Along with these new changes, Google is also making some improvements in the privacy field.

Attendees who have been removed from the meeting once can only join again if the host re-invites them, and the host can control who can chat or present in a meeting, these security features will be available soon, another important feature that was coming to Gmail is detecting phishing links.

Vulnerabilities through viruses and Malware will mainly be exploited through phishing links, this is worrisome for many companies, so any link that was clicked will be scanned in real-time and will be flagged if any malicious content is detected. Google also promises picture-in-picture mode for video calls in Gmail.
