Sony yesterday took their Xperia Youtube channel to announce the new line up of Xperia smartphones, they are restricted to announce their new smartphones on a YouTube channel because of the cancellation of MWC due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Sony announced the predecessors Xperia 1, Xperia 10 at the Mobile World Congress last year.

Sony's new flagships were named as mark 2's of the previous Xperia line up like Xperia 1 M2, Xperia 10 M2, and a new Xperia device called device Xperia Pro which as the name suggests is targetted at professional users who work to live stream events like sports, Sony announced at CES 2020 that they've collaborated with NBC sports for the purpose of live streaming sport events with the help of 5G mobile technology.

The main flagship in the line up was Sony Xperia 1 m2(spelled as mark 2), just like its predecessor it will have a 4K HDR OLED display, last year Xperia 1 is the first smartphone to have a 4K display, Xperia 1 m2 will have a 6.5" screen, it will have the latest Snapdragon processor Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform, the phone will have triple-lens camera setup and for the first time, Sony includes Zeiss technology in their Smartphones.

Zeiss technology was previously used in flagship Nokia phones, Sony says that the camera technology was co-developed with the engineers behind the latest Alpha 9 series cameras for industry-leading autofocus, the cameras use eye-auto focus technology to perfect and less noisy captures, Xperia 1 m2 can shoot up to 20fps in burst shots which will help in taking clear shots in fast-moving events.

Sony also focused on low-light photography, 3D iToF (indirect Time-of-Flight) sensor will help to take bright photos in low light settings, Xperia 1 m2 can shoot 4k videos at 24fps and will also have CineAlta's settings and features, Sony says it has also improved audio recording with intelligent wind filter for clear audio.

Sony also promises better image quality and display quality, Xperia 1 m2 will have a 10-bit equivalent display and a high contrast ratio of 1000,000:1 and the X1 for the mobile engine that brings Bravia HDR remaster technology to Xperia 1 m2, the phone will have dual front-facing stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos Technology and Sony still stick with narrow bezels instead of notch-display.

Surprisingly Sony Xperia 1 m2 will have a 3.5mm audio jack, it's like the only flagship to continue the headphone jack tradition, Sony also promises 360 Reality Audio but not all streaming platforms currently deliver 360 Reality Audio, the phone's battery is packed with 4,000 mAh, and can also wirelessly charge.

The phone is  IP65/68 water-resistant and features Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides.
