YouTube will be the new platform for Activision's live E-sports events.

By the end of last season, Overwatch games averages 40,000 live viewers on Twitch.

Gamers watch 50 billion hours of gaming content per year on streaming platforms, the content includes E-sports.

Activision and Google come to a new deal where from now on live stream of Activision Blizzard's live E-sports events which include inaugural Call of Duty league, Overwatch League and Hearthstone E-sports. Twitch used be the platform for these until last year, the first event to be hosted by YouTube will be the newly started Call of Duty league which happen on January 24.

Google cloud will also be part of the deal where Activision Blizzard use it as it's preferred game hosting service. Ryan Wyatt, Head of Gaming, YouTube, who also formerly commentated on Call of Duty E-sports said "With more than 200 million gamers a day watching more than 50 billion hours of gaming content per year, YouTube provides gamers and their passionate fans with the most popular video gaming platform in the world," he said "Both the Overwatch League and Call of Duty League are the quintessential examples of world class esports content. As a former Call of Duty esports commentator myself, I couldn't be more excited for Activision Blizzard to choose YouTube as its exclusive home for the digital live streaming of both leagues. This partnership further demonstrates our dedication to having a world class live streaming product for gaming."

Ryan Wyatt also commented on this in an Interview with Wired, and said that Google Activision have been talks with each other over E-sports media rights since last year and said that “It’s a long time coming.” Activision Blizzard's last deal with Twitch worth $90 million for the streaming of over watch league.

YouTube have being in plans to expand it's gaming section of YouTube which is called YouTube Gaming, and it brought popular Twitch streamers into it's own platform, and the streamers who recently started stepped into YouTube Gaming and started streaming their game-plays include  Jack "CouRage" Dunlop which can gather an average of 9000 viewers per stream and other big gamers like Rachell "Valkyrae" Hofstetter, Elliott "Muselk" Watkins, and Lannan "LazarBeam" Eacott.

According to StreamElements, YouTube Gaming hosts 28 percent of live streamed hours and Twitch hosts 61 percent of it. These officials from both companies have commented on the deal.
