Samsung is good at making many tech products and SSDs are being one of them, at CES 2020 Samsung has announced T7 Touch external SSD, a predecessor of the T5 external SSD which was released in Aug of 2017, Samsung says that T7 will be twice as faster than it's predecessor T5 external SSD.
Security is key to our files and storage of any type and we have passwords to protect them, now Samsung introduced Touch Sensor in it's new T7 external SSD for extra security purposes, this SSD will support three additional fingerprints which means you can add upto 4 fingerprints to unlock your SSD and the data in it, which will be helpful if you have to share your SSD with others.
Along with the new touch sensor security feature there will be a light around the touch sensor which will glow to indicate that the SSD is active in use and is transferring data to or from your Computer or Laptop.
The external SSD has a aluminum body which will make it resistant to upto two meters drop as said by Samsung. There's only a single port in the New SSD by Samsung which is USB-C and can be used to connect to a USB-C to USB-C cable or a USB-C to USB-A cable.
The improvements from the T5 model to T7 model also includes improved read and write speeds of 1000 MBps and 1050 MBps respectively which are twice faster than it's predecessor T5 external SSD as the company has said, the T7 Touch is available in Silver and Black colors.
The cost of the new T7 touch external SSD are $129.99 for 500GB variant, $229.99 for 1TB variant and $399.99 for 2TB variant. the sale of the T7 Touch external SSD will be at the end of the January. There is also a separate T7 external SSD with out a touch sensor which will be sold on the second quarter of this year.
